LOCKGREEN™ is a 100% Black-owned, Virginia-based company whose mission is to offer high-quality products that provide protection, promote safety and support the values of Responsible Consumers.
Co-owners Ronald and Sarah Morton have been longtime supporters of marijuana law reform and minority representation in the cannabis industry. Both graduates from the University of Virginia, they share three amazing kids and currently reside in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia.
On April 21, 2021, Governor Northam surprisingly moved the effective date for recreational marijuana legalization to July 1, 2021 from its previously projected date of January 2024. The idea for LOCKGREEN™ at that time was just a thought for a future business idea, and just like that, their thought turned into a current opportunity to really make an impact for Responsible Consumers in Virginia and beyond. Lots of planning, research and design work took place between then and the launch date for LOCKGREEN™ on July 1, which was purposely selected to coordinate with the historic law change.
LOCKGREEN™ continues to evolve and integrate innovative ideas, while working toward fulfilling its mission to support you, the Responsible Consumer. Stay tuned!

Ronald Morton has been working in the legal cannabis industry for over 10 years across three states: Colorado, Maryland, and now Virginia. His experience is vast, having worked in both the medicinal and recreational markets at all levels of the industry: cultivation, processing, and dispensing. Ronald is enrolled in the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy’s Master of Science in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics program, the first graduate program in the United States that is dedicated to the study of medical cannabis.
Ronald believes that cannabis companies should understand the culture of the people within the communities they serve just as much as they focus on the bottom line. With the cannabis culture being in its infancy stage and constantly evolving in Virginia, Ron looks to have a positive impact by promoting safely, protection, and positivity through his community involvement and LOCKGREEN™.
Ronald was born and raised in Trenton, NJ and enjoys glass art, football, and live music.

Sarah Kiah Morton has been an active member of the Hampton Roads business community since 2007, sitting on various boards and being recognized as one of the region’s Top 40 Under 40 professionals in 2019. She is passionate about educating her community on Virginia’s advancements in cannabis laws, which she has done in various ways, such as moderating community forums and town hall meetings, speaking on the topic, and being interviewed by local media outlets.
Due to the impact of COVID-19, Sarah left her Vice-President level position with one of the largest employee benefit brokerages in the country to stay home with a newborn baby and two children in virtual schooling. It was then that her entrepreneurial ambitions had an opportunity to flourish. Sarah enrolled in Purdue University’s Master of Science in Communications program with a concentration in Integrated Communication and Advertising and began building a business plan, which resulted in the birth of LOCKGREEN™.
Sarah was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH and enjoys the beach, traveling, live music, and singing.
