Sarah Kiah Morton

Sarah Kiah Morton is the CEO and Co-Founder of LOCKGREEN®, a cannabis safety and education company focused on cannabis legal literacy, responsible storage, safe transport, harm reduction, and consumer protection. A University of Virginia graduate with more than 20 years of experience in business development, operations, and strategic communications, Sarah brings both executive leadership experience and years of cannabis education work to her writing and public-facing work.

Sarah has been hosting cannabis education events since 2018 and has spoken and moderated at major industry and community events including the National Cannabis Festival, Virginia Cannabis Conference, CannaCon, International Women’s Cannabis Conference, Black CannaBiz Expo, and other regional and national forums. She has also planned and hosted community education events focused on Virginia cannabis laws, legalization, consumer rights, business opportunities, and the Commonwealth’s developing retail cannabis market.

Through LOCKGREEN, Sarah’s work centers on helping cannabis consumers understand how changing laws affect everyday decisions around possession, storage, travel, family safety, and responsible use. She also writes and speaks about cannabis entrepreneurship, ancillary business development, public education, and the importance of building legal literacy into legalization efforts.

Sarah and LOCKGREEN’s work has been featured by The New York Times, Refinery29, NowThis, The Virginian-Pilot, Virginia Business, Ganjapreneur, WTKR, WAVY-TV, and other media outlets. She has also received national and regional recognition for entrepreneurship and cannabis industry leadership, including nominations from the Women in Cannabis Expo, first-place pitch competition awards, and recognition as a Black Ambition Prize semifinalist.

Her work is grounded in a simple belief: legalization is most effective when consumers have clear information, practical tools, and the knowledge needed to protect themselves, their families, and their communities.
